Phase 1 – Theory Training (4 Hrs)
During Phase 1, the instructor guides trainees through a comprehensive and interactive review of the operator workbook covering:
Phase 2 – Theory Evaluation (30 Min)
Phase 2 starts with a written test based on the concepts covered in the operators reference manuals. The test consists of ten (10) multiple choice/essay type questions. These tests are graded and returned to the trainees and then reviewed to ensure complete understanding of the material.
A minimum score of 70% is required to pass this phase of the program.
Phase 3 – Practical Training (8 Hrs*)
Phase 3 is the hands-on portion of the program where the trainees are shown the pre-use inspection, safe operating procedures and parking/shut-down procedures. They are then given the opportunity to practice under the helpful eye of the program instructor.
*Time may vary. Eight hours for Beginner Operator Program.
Phase 4 – Practical Evaluation (30 minutes per trainee*)
In Phase 4, trainees are assessed as having reached a minimum skill level and are individually evaluated using a Forklift in a reasonably challenging course (site specific). Following the evaluation, trainees are debriefed and given the opportunity to address any issues they may have regarding any phase of the program. Each successful trainee’s employer will receive official records and documents shortly after the end of the program.
